The Ivy & Max preview issue that I had made for HeroesCon 2011 was reviewed over at Sequential Tart in their November Issue.
Many thanks to Rebecca Buchanan for the very kind review. Check out Sequential Tart and their review of Ivy & Max.
Ivy and Max was selected as Webcomic Pick of the Week over at Comics Coast to Coast last week!
This has been an exciting year starting this comic with all the writing and a lot of storyboarding at the end of last year. I finally feel like I’m settling in and really getting comfortable with it. The problem with releasing only 1 page a week is that when you have a lot of non dialogue pages in a row, it can feel like its dragging on but this the the schedule I have to do right now. Anyways head on over to Comics Coast to Coast and check out the interview with Joel Duggan – Episode 126 where I get a quick mention in there. The podcasts are great fun to listen to. Thanks again to everyone for spreading the word about the comic as well. I have seen steady growth over the past couple months and let’s keep it growing!
I got my registration from Dragon*Con this year in the mail on Friday so it’s a go for this weekend. This will be my first time at Dragon*Con so I’m super excited to see what its like. I’ll be posting pics and stuff from the show on the site and on Twitter so be sure to follow whats going on all weekend long. The show is all Labor Day weekend. Friday – Monday in Atlanta, GA. Hope to see some of you there!

Thought I’d show a sneak peek of one of the creatures in the world that Ivy lives in. They have a name but you’ll have to just wait until later.
Heroescon this year was such an awesome show. I met so many great creators, artists, and writers this year and we had some awesome booth buddies beside us this year. We were beside Chris and Scott for the second year in a row and what a blast we had over the weekend. Chris is a fantastic inker and has been doing this for upwards of 15 years. We both are working on all ages, family friendly comics and his creation, Danger Tours is shaping up to be a great comic. Be sure to check it out! We had a blast with our other booth buddies Jen Keith, Noelle Giffin, and Stephanie Hocutt as well. All in all the highlight of HC was meeting and talking with Andy Runton of Owly. If you don’t already know who he is…WHAT is Wrong with YOU? No seriously, he is an awesome illustrator and writer and has some awesome books for all ages. He’s also one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. There are just too many fun memories and that’s why I love this convention. I’ll definately be going back next year. I only snapped a few pictures of the weekend with my junky camera phone so sorry about the quality in advance
